Dual fusion bonded epoxy with abrasion-resistant overcoat
DFBE (Dual Fusion Bonded Epoxy) is an advanced coating solution that adds an abrasion-resistant overcoat (ARO) layer of 100-200 microns on top of standard FBE primer. This dual-layer system delivers enhanced mechanical protection for applications where rocky backfill, aggressive handling, trenchless installation, or subsea conditions create risks of coating damage.
The ARO layer provides exceptional impact and gouge resistance while maintaining the proven corrosion protection properties of FBE. DFBE is the ideal choice when you need both thermal protection and mechanical durability in a single, cost-effective coating solution. Fully compliant with ISO 21809-2 standards.
300-500μm of fusion bonded epoxy provides corrosion resistance and adhesion to pipe substrate
100-200μm of abrasion-resistant overcoat protects against impact, gouges, and mechanical damage
400-700μm combined thickness provides comprehensive corrosion and mechanical protection
Combines corrosion resistance of FBE with mechanical durability of ARO layer
Withstands rocky backfill, soil movement, and mechanical handling during installation
Enhanced durability for HDD, micro-tunneling, and other trenchless deployment methods
ARO layer maintains flexibility in cold climates for installation and service
Available for pipes from 4 inches to 60 inches in diameter for mid to large applications
